“Mission 1 complete”
Intro: Do you love or hate the gospel?
- The Gospel will divide (v1-7)
The gospel is costly – it brings opposition
How clear is it that your allegiance belongs to Jesus?
Paul’s response to opposition?
- Considerable time preaching and explaining the gospel
- Then a city move to keep preaching the gospel
Is gospel progress your decision making tool?
- The Gospel demands a response from all (v8-20)
The powerful gospel is to bring you to Jesus;
- In Acts 3 the Jews were stuck on the law
- In Acts 14 the Gentiles are distracted by idols
Torn clothes – a humble response to Jesus is the right one
Paul is stoned – has opposition stopped God’s gospel mission?
Are you turning your back on Jesus?
- The Gospel is unstoppable (v21-28)
Opposition, persecution and even stoning can’t stop the gospel mission
Paul and Barnabas return to Antioch, encouraging the new churches along the way, new churches that have sprung up because of the gospel
